Obituary

SPRINGFIELD- Stephen Kramek, 76, of 44 Parker view Avenue, formerly of Worcester, a long time screw machine operator, died Saturday January 10, 2003 in Mercy Medical Center after an illness.

He is survived by a sister Celia Bowse, of Worcester and a niece and caretaker, Elizabeth D’Errico, of Shrewsbury.

He is predeceased by 6 sisters; Mary Staruk, Victoria Wrobel, SR.Christella, AKA Ethel Kramek, Helen Oppedisano, Genevieve Johansen, and Anna Kramek. He also is predeceased by 4 brothers; Stanley, Bernard, Joseph, and Thaddeus Kramek.

Born in Worcester, son of the late Francis and Amelia (Samonek) Kramek, he was educated in Worcester and graduated from Classical High School in Worcester.

A US Army Veteran of WWII he saw action in Rhineland, Central Europe.

Mr. Kramek worked as a machine screw operator at Reed and Prince in Worcester for many years, as well as several Springfield-area machine shops.

His funeral will be held Tuesday January 21, 2003 from the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home (brittonfuneralhomes.com) 648 Main Street, with a Mass in St. Anne’s Church 130 Turnpike Rd. After cremation, burial will follow in Notre-Dame Cemetery. Calling Hours at the funeral home will be from 9:30AM to 10:30 AM Tuesday January 21, 2003
