Juanita K. “Nita” Oates, 81, of Coconut Creek, Florida died Wednesday, December 19 at Northwest Medical Center in Margate, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 28 at Ocilla Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Ocilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Oates was born April 2, 1926 in Tift County, Georgia to the late Frank Albert and Edna King Kendrix. She was a homemaker and a former secretary. She had lived in Coconut Creek, FL for the past 35 years and was a former resident of Miami, Florida and Tifton, Georgia. She was a member of the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church in Coral Springs, FL.
Mrs. Oates is survived by her husband: Allen Oates of Coconut Creek, FL; daughter and son-in-law: Karen and Michael Meisser of Woodstock, GA; two sons and a daughter-in-law: David Oates of Coconut Creek, FL and Ken and Loretta Oates of West Palm Beach, FL; and four grandsons: Kenny Oates, Matthew Oates, Evan Meisser and Nathan Meisser. She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
