Allen (A.J.) Wayne Jones, 51, of Tillatoba, MS died Thursday, December 20, 2007 in Como, MS. Allen Jones was born in Water Valley, MS to Helen Virginia Allen Jones and the late Fitzhugh Lee Jones, Jr. He was a truck driver for Nicky Hardy Trucking and was a licensed preacher to the ministry through the Assemblies of God (Independent). He was a member of Community Full Gospel Assembly of Charleston, MS.
The visitation will be held Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the Community Full Gospel Assembly in Charleston, MS. The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 23, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Community Full Gospel Assembly conducted by Rev. C. H. Newcomb, Rev. Carl McClain, and Rev. Bobby Carter. The committal service will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Micah Walker, Tony Dunn, Donald Fillyaw, Charlie Greer, Terry King, and Shannon Looney serving as pallbearers. The honorary bearers are Mark Hartley, Lee Moore, Glenn Burney, Nicky Hardy, Quay Peacock, Ken Jackson, Glen Melton, and Earl Taylor.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Lisa H. Jones of Tillatoba, MS; two daughters, Latonjia R. Jones of Oakland, MS and Kimberly A. Jones of Tillatoba, MS; mother, Helen Virginia Allen Jones of Oakland, MS; a sister, April Jones Holliman of Carrollton, MS; a brother Elbert Lee Doyle of Coila, MS; three grandchildren, Christopher Blake Brown, LaShae Jones, and Curtis Henderson.
A.J. was preceded in death by his father, Fitzhugh Lee Jones, Jr. and sister, Pamela Joy Jones.
