Colonel Carl Jones, the twelfth child born to the union of the late Mr. Judge Willie Jones and the late Mrs. Annie L. Miller Jones, began his life in Madison County, Alabama on November 14, 1943 and entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 19, 2007.
At an early age, Carl confessed hope in Christ, underwent baptism and joined Morris Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Pete Matthews. He was joined in holy matrimony to Katherine Harris in February 1993.
He leaves to mourn his passing a loving and devoted wife, Katherine; two son: Maurice (Linda) Jones of Huntsville, Alabama and Jonothan (Cameron) Jones of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Doris (Clifford) Hardin of Meridianville, Alabama; two stepchildren: Adonis and Frederick Harris, both of Huntsville, Alabama; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven sisters and brothers: MSG (Retired) Willie B. (Mary) Jones of Alexandria, Virginia, Edward (Bessie) Jones of Huntsville, Alabama, Otha Jones of Birmingham, Alabama, Mary Alice Davis of Buffalo, New York, Martha Stone of Huntsville, Alabama, Sarah (Arthur) Jamar of Huntsville, Alabama and Judge Lee (Bebley) Jones of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Colonel Carl Jones was the owner and manager of CJ Lawn Maintenance Company.
Funeral services for Mr. Colonel Carl Jones will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at 12:00 Noon from the Douglas Tabernacle Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Theodis Acklin officiating. Interment will be in Friends Cemetery. The remains of Mr. Jones will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time.
