Obituary

Gertrude “Kay” Tuller, 80, of 25 Union Ave. died January 16, 2003 in her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born in Somerville MA on December 30, 1922, the daughter of David and Sarah (Edwards) Owen. She has resided in Laconia since 1960.

Raised in Boston she received her degree from Plymouth State College. Prior to her retirement in 1983, she was employed in social services at the former Laconia State School & Training Center until its closure.

Family friends brought Kay to the Lakes Region and for many years she loved living on Lake Winnisquam. She was an ardent traveler, photographer, gourmet cook and took immense pleasure at giving and attending parties. She was politically active in both state and federal campaigns.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, William G. Tuller, PhD who died in 1954.

Family members include two daughters, Kathryn T. Murdock of Stamford CT and Jean E. Tuller of Portland OR and four grandchildren.

There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated this coming summer in St. Joseph Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NH Humane Society, PO Box 572 Laconia NH 03247. The Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia is assisting the family with arrangements.
