Mary Evelyn (Medeiros) Ferreira-84, of Hudson, MA died Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at her residence.
She was the wife of Antonio Ferreira who died in 1984.
She was born in Hudson, daughter of the late August and Mary G. (Custodio) Medeiros. She was raised and resided in Hudson all her life. She was a student in the Hudson Public School system.
She worked for the former Ascutany Shoe Co. in Hudson and later spent 25 years working for the Raytheon Co. in Sudbury in their reproduction dept. until her retirement.
She was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson, Saint Michael’s Holy Ghost Society and member of the Women of the Moose in Marlborough.
She is survived by her children, Rosemary Powell and her husband Brian of California and Rosalyn McHugh and her husband James of Hudson. She is also survived by her stepmother, Joanna Medeiros of Hudson; her 2 brothers, Edward Medeiros and his wife Rose of Marlborough, Arthur Medeiros and his wife Mary of Florida; her sister Monica Oram of Marlborough; her step-sisters and step-brothers, Jeanette Kennett, Audrey Wallace, Shirley Zinc, Leanora Seco, Rosie Bairos, John Bairos; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
She was the mother of the late Richard Ferreira who died in 1988 and is survived by her daughter in law Donna Ferreira Agoritsas, of Marlborough. She was sister to the late Eva Medeiros French, Anna Sarsfield; step-sister to the late Joe Maria Bairos, Anthony Bairos and Mary Fatima Morrisey.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning Street Hudson MA. Burial will be in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Friday, Dec. 21, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
