WORCESTER
Philip G. Jackson, 46, of Worcester died Tues., Dec. 12, in UMASS Medical Center. He leaves his mother, Christine E. (Flanders) Jackson of Worcester; his siblings, Eileen O’Connor of Worcester, John Jackson and his wife Gloria of Morristown, NJ, Andrea Travaska of Millbury, Christine Jackson of Worcester, and Timothy Jackson of Shrewsbury; his uncle and aunt, Kenneth and Elizabeth Flanders of Worcester; a niece, Johanna Jackson of Morristown, NJ; many cousins and friends. He was born in Newark, NJ son of the late John T. Jackson, Sr. and graduated and received his masters at William Paterson University.
Philip worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Shrewsbury for 15 years. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Church and a former member of the St. Patrick’s Parade Committee. He was an avid sports fan, lifelong Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed darts and bowling. He was a published poet and a dedicated Rolling Stones fan, having gone to 37 concerts in two countries. Philip was a devoted son, faithful brother and loving uncle.
The funeral will be held Sat., Dec. 15, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 11:30 AM in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Fri., Dec. 14, from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
