Obituary

Lutz, Fla. - Carl H. Carlson, 86, of Lutz, formerly of Bridgewater, Mass., died at University Hospital in Tampa, Fla., on Dec. 9.

Born in Boston, a son of the late Carl and Helen Carlson, he lived in Bridgewater for many years before moving to Florida in 2002.

He served with the Merchant Marines during World War II, earning the rank of lieutenant commander.

He was a self-employed machinist for many years.

He was a member of the Heritage Hills Country Club, the Mitchell Memorial Club and the Elks
Club.

He was also a longtime coach of little league baseball, hockey and girls softball in Framingham, Mass.

He enjoyed bowling and playing golf.

He was the husband of the late Julia (Britton); father of William G. of Palmetto, Fla., Alan L. of Woonsocket, R.I., Carleen M. of South Carolina and John H. of Fall River; grandfather of Chris, Erik, Rikki Lee and Kara; great-grandfather of Brianna; brother of Bob and Ruth.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, Taunton, Mass.

Visiting hours are on Friday from 4-7 p.m.
