Gerald Lauren Emerick, age 72, of Water Valley, MS died Sunday, December 9, 2007 at his home in Yalobusha County. He was born in Cousebay, Oregon on July 28, 1935 to George W. and Alverta Bright Emerick. He was a retired truck driver for T. G. Baker Company of Water Valley, MS and served in the United States Marines during the Korean War.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. The committal service will follow at Elam Cemetery in Yalobusha County with Brent Combs, Andy Emerick, Jason Tatum, Jamey Allen, Mark Ragon, and Greg Langham serving as pallbearers. Florence Combs will be an honorary pallbearer.
Mr. Emerick is survived by his wife, Dorothy Emerick of Water Valley, MS; two daughters, Teresa Story of Dallas Texas and Samantha Emerick of Oxford, MS; five sons, Craig Emerick of Santa Barbara, CA, Todd Emerick of San Diego, CA, Jeff Emerick of Santa Barbara, CA, Ken Combs of Dallas, TX, and Dewayne Combs of Water Valley, MS; twelve grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Dottie Bauhaus.
