John H. O’Hearn, 72, passed away on December 8th, 2007 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford after a long illness. He was born on May 24th, 1935 to his parents Edward L. and Mary E. (McCarthy) O’Hearn. John has been a life long resident of Medford, attending Medford Public Schools. After graduation from Medford High School, he went on to earn a degree from New England College in New Hampshire. John worked as a Zoning Administrator for the City of Medford Office of Community Development. He served the city at that position for 27 years. John and his family have spent many years enjoying their vacation home in Laconia, NH. He is survived by his wife Janice (Rumley) O’Hearn; his children, Kelly Malloy and husband Timothy of Medford, J. Kevin O’Hearn of Medford and Kimberly Khachadourian and her husband Gino of Winchester; his grandchildren Jack and Megan Malloy and Shawn, Nicole and Daniel Khachadourian. He is also survived by his siblings M. Patricia Hilsinger of Belmont and Edward L. O’Hearn of Laconia, NH, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church in Medford on Wednesday December 12th at 11 AM followed by interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Relatives & friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday December 11th from 4-8 PM.
