Walter F. McQuiston, 81

West Boylston, Walter F. McQuiston, Sr., 81, of Pierce St. died Monday, January 13, at home. His wife, Gladys O. (Barrette) McQuiston, died in 1994. He leaves 2 sons, Michael F. McQuiston of Manchaug and Walter F. McQuiston Jr. of East Douglas; 2 daughters, Cecelia M. Desrosiers of Holland and Theresa A. Ballon of Oxford; several brothers and sisters in Minnesota; 6 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was born in Minnesota, son of John H. and Margaret H. (Madden) McQuiston. Mr. McQuiston worked for the former Jamesbury Co. retiring in 1986. He was an active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel, West Boylston, the Greendale Men’s Club, and the American Legion Harold N. Keith Post 204, West Boylston. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was an avid Golfer.

The funeral will held Friday, Jan 17 at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 9 to 11 AM on Friday at Nordgren Memorial Chapel (www.NordgrenMemorialChapel.com). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gladys O. McQuiston Scholarship Fund, c/o Holy Name High School, 144 Granite St., Worcester, 01604.
