JB Turner Sr., 93 of Harvest passed away at Huntsville Hospital on Thursday, December 6, 2007. His wife of 61 years Mrs. Aleain Booker Turner and his children, Louise, Laura, and James Phillips all preceded him in death.
Mr. JB served over 40 years with the Madison County Board of Education. He was an avid farmer and a businessman par excellent. Mr. JB was a "father" to many throughout the Madison, Limestone, and surrounding counties. As a dedicated, loyal servant, Mr. JB served over 75 years in various capacities at Turner Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
Mr. Turner leaves to cherish his countless memories: three daughters, Sandra (Michael) Biggs of Snellville, GA, Bessie (David) Jordan of Huntsville,Kathy Turner of Harvest,seven sons J. B. Jr.(Barbara) Aaron, Billy (Betty), Quintin (Shirley); all of Harvest, AL. Rev. Harold Turner (Ann) of Huntsville, Boyd (Jannifer) of Toney and Gary (Cassandra) of Ardmore. Four sisters; Mamie Tibbs of Toney, Arnez Bonaperte, Catherine Acklin (Edward) of Huntsville, and Geneva Hill (George) of Albany, GA. One brother; Brice Turner of Louisville, KY, one brother-in-law; Robert Booker (Dorothy) of Fort Wayne, IN, one sister-in-law; Mattie Turner, of Nashville, TN. Twenty-five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. JB Turner, Sr. will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 12:00 noon from the Mt. Zion M.B. Church with Rev. Mildred Watson, Pastor of Turner C.M.E. Church officiating and Rev C. Jermaine Turner, Eulogist. Interment will be in the Booker Cemetery. The remains of Mr. Turner will be in the church one hour prior to funeral time. Family visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2007 at the Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
