Ray Carlton Jones, 74, of Omega died Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2007, in Omega Cemetery. Rev. Cecil Felts and Ricky Carrington will officiate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Luke, Keith Luke, Jimmy Holton, Rocky Jones, Brian Ponder and Caleb Oberman. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Jones, Tory Pisciotta, Carl Shannon, Lemon Webb, Thomas Bowman and Jones Ponder. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 6, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Jones was born on September 12, 1933 in Omega and was the son of Clyde Henry Jones and Bessie Lou Hester Jones, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas Jones, Milton Jones, Lamar Jones and Lennon Jones. He was a retired electrician and had lived in Omega for 50 years.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Betty Luke Jones of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Patricia Jones of Tifton and Rayburn and Sheila Jones of Omega; one sister, Myrtle Jones of Ashburn; three grandchildren, Amelia Jones, Anthony Jones and Jessica Murillo; and two great grandchildren.
