Obituary

Corinne I. Jackson was born on September 23, 1899 in Portland, Maine to Alexander and Annie Rose and departed this life on Saturday, December 15, 2001. She was the beloved wife of the late William E. Benders, Sr., and Ernest Jackson and the loving mother of William E., Jr. and his wife Jean F. Benders of Medford, Shirley V. Parker of Boston and the late Corinne Bryant and Jean Y. Lloyd. She also leaves to mourn 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

During the course of her life, she was very active in her community, visiting prison inmates, many of whom stayed at her home upon release from the correction institutions. Her involvement in community affairs was quite evident through her adult life as a volunteer at the Boston City Hospital, holding memberships in both the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and serving on the Native American Council of Boston representing her ancestors of the Passimaquiote Tribe in Maine. ,

Her family and friends knew her to be gentle, fun, and very loving. She lived most of the twentieth century raising her children, caring for her family, both immediate as well as extended, along with serving in numerous organizations promoting the good of the community and the well being of her loved ones.

All that knew her were aware of her love for the Lord as in the later years of her life she expressed her faith and conviction to God by frequently attending various denominational services throughout the area.

Corinne was a blessing to all that knew her.

Funeral Information: Her funeral service will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, MEDFORD, Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visitation, prior to the service, from 10 to 11 AM. Interment, Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
