Keating of West Bridgewater, January 12, 2003, Robert L. Keating, Sr., 76 years. Loving husband of Eleanor F. (Slyva) Keating and the late Barbara J. (Doersam) Keating. Father of Robert L. Keating, Jr. of Canton; Arlene M. Keating of W. Newbury; Stephen J. Keating of Millburn, NJ and John F. Keating of Bridgewater. Stepfather of Marianne Mullen of Alexandria, VA.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, W. Bridgewater at 10 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8 pm. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the American Lung Assoc., 1 Abby Lane, Middleboro, MA 02346.

Obituary

Mr. Keating died Sunday evening at the New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton after a brief illness. Born in Springfield, son of the late Harold E. and Mary I. (MacDonald) Keating he was a graduate of West Springfield High School Class of 1944. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy during WW II and served the Pacific Theater on the USS Riverside APA102 Transport Squardon as a radar man. In 1994 he retired as a sales representative for Carter-Rice Boston Paper Company after 47 years, covering the South Shore,Cape Cod and Islands territory. He enjoyed golf and was co-owner of Keats Antiques. He was a long time member of St. Ann’s Church, served as a Deacon, CCD teacher, member and past president of Holy Name Society and the parish center fund raising committee.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor F. (Slyva) Keating, 3 sons Robert L. Keating, Stephen J. Keating and John F. Keating, a daughter Arlene M. Keating, a stepdaughter Marianne Mullen and 6 grandchildren.
