Obituary

John F. Newell, 78 years of Plymouth, formerly of Brockton, died unexpectedly December 3, 2007 at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, son of the late Guy W. and Mildred C. (O’Connell) (Newell) Tucker. John was a Navy veteran of WWII, who served on the USS Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier. In his earlier years, he was a photographer’s assistant at the Henderson Galleries in Abington and travelled extensively taking photographic portraits of famous and notable persons and families. He retired 18 years ago from Standard Uniform Co. in Pawtucket RI where he had been a member of the Teamsters Union Local 251, Providence. Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending winters at his home in Fort Pierce, FL. He was also a member of the Enterprise Club. He is survived by his siblings, Francis J. Newell, M. Dina Piasecki, James W. Newell, William Newell, Helen Colombo and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
