Sally A. (Melchior) Becker, 55 of Franklin died, Monday, November 26, 2007 at her home after a long battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved wife of Jeffrey L. Becker for 34 years.
Born in Orange, New Jersey on January 23, 1952, she was a daughter of John C. Melchior, Sr. of Allentown, PA and the late Muriel (Fischer) Melchior.
A resident of Franklin for the past twenty-four years, she grew up in Middletown, NJ. She attended Monmouth College and graduated from Mass. Bay Community College with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
While her children were young, Sally worked locally in early childhood education at area nursery schools. Her love for antiques inspired her to open Sadie’s Attic on Central Street in Holliston which she owned for five years. Throughout her treatment, she continued to work on a part-time basis in the antique business both collecting and renting space in local antique shops.
Sally enjoyed traveling; especially her Caribbean vacations and cruises.
Besides her husband and father, she is survived by; two daughters, Alyssa A. Becker of Apex, NC and Cary L. Stephens and her husband, Eric of Milford and Sally’s grandson, Ryan Stephens.
She is also survived by; a sister, Mary Ellen Daubert of Lehighton, PA, a brother, John C. Melchoir, Jr. of Emmaus, PA and many nieces and nephews.
She was a sister of the late Carol L. Melchior.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service on Friday, November 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lucy Stone Chapel at Forest Hills Crematory and Columbarium, 171 Walk Hill St. in Jamaica Plain, Ma 02130. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
