Obituary

Robert J. Noury, 82, of Manchester died November 26, 2007 at his home.
Born in Manchester on August 4, 1925, he was the son of Stanislaus and Yvonne (Bourque) Noury. He lived most of his life in Manchester.
He graduated from West High School in 1944. While at West he was an all-state basketball player, was a member of the football reserve team and ran cross country.
He served in the US Army from 1946 to 1948 and was a member of the Military Police while stationed at Governor’s Island in New York City.
He was married to Joyce Ann (McCormack) Noury who died in 2005.
The family includes four children, Robin N. Hogan of Holderness, Jeffrey S. Noury of Portsmouth, Bonnie J. Noury of Londonderry and Susan N. Jodoin of Hooksett; eight grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Noury of Manchester; two sisters, Henriette Schofield of Manchester and Julie Spaulding of Concord; nieces and nephews.
IN HIS LIFE: Mr. Noury worked as a postal clerk in Manchester with the US Postal Service for over 40 years. He also worked many years at Rockingham Park in Salem.
He was a former communicant of St. Raphael Church and later of St. Catherine Church.
He was a long time member of the Intervale Country Club and the Derryfield Country Club and played on their postal leagues.
He was predeceased by a brother, Norman Noury.
Mr. Noury enjoyed golf and followed New England sports teams and Syracuse University football. He kept up on the news of the day by reading and sharing his personal view points with whomever engaged him in conversation.
He will be remembered as a deeply devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday December 1, 2007 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed in the Shaw Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
