Muriel W. Keans, 96, passed away at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford on November 25th, 2007 after a brief illness. She was born in Everett on November 10th, 1911 to her parents Chester and Mary (McManus) Keans. For several years, Muriel worked as a bookkeeper at First National Stores in Somerville and later went on to retire from Sears & Roebuck Department Stores in Saugus. She was a devout parishioner at Immaculate Conception parish in Malden and at Mission Church in Boston. She lived most of her life in Medford. Along with her parents, Muriel was predeceased by her siblings; Angela Taylor, Evelyn Keans and Norman Keans. She is survived by her nieces; Judith Hussey of Florida, Beverly Leonard of Everett, Janet Morris of Everett and her nephew Charles Taylor of East Falmouth. She is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden on Friday November 30th at 9 AM followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 PM.
