Obituary

Josephine M. (DiCesare) Vecchio passed away at the Life Care Center in Stoneham on November 23, 2007. She was 92 years old.

Born in Boston, Josephine grew up in Malden. She was a longtime resident of both Malden and East Boston and also lived in Stoneham and Melrose. She was a seamstress in the garment industry and worked for Boston Sportswear and Summett Sportswear for many years.

Josephine was the devoted wife of the late Vincent A. Vecchio. She was the loving mother of Joanne V. Santagate and her husband Anthony of Burlington and Rosemarie Vecchio and her husband Stephen Jackson of Melrose. She was the dear sister of Mary DiCesare of Reading and the late Alec, Louis, John, George and Anthony DiCesare. Josephine was the cherished grandmother of James A. Santagate and his wife Amanda, Alexandra Jackson and Victoria Jackson and the great-grandmother of Benjamin Santagate and Jacob Santagate.

The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday, November 27th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham Street, Melrose at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are on Monday, November 26th from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
