Obituary

SALEM - Regina (Wrobleski) Kowalski, 85, of Salem, wife of the late Alexander “Alex” Kowalski, died Thursday evening, November 22, 2007 at the Salem Hospital following a short illness.

Born in Danvers, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Struzinski) Wroblewski. A resident of Salem since early childhood, she was a lifelong parishioner of the St. Thomas The Apostle Church.

She met her future husband Alexander in the late 1930's and they remained together until his death in December, 2006. Prior to marriage in 1946, she was well known as the face and voice, greeting often famous visitors at Sylvania Corporate Headquarters. Utilizing the area’s first centrex system, her voice was also transmitted to multiple satellite facilities. Her most important accomplishment however was that of wife, mother, grandmother, friend and family manager. She was an equally talented cook, baker, seamstress, gardener and decorator. In later life she joined the Essex County Needlecrafters Guild (ECNG) and exhibited her beautiful creations at their showings.

Mrs Kowalski is survived by twos sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul Stephen of Salem, Phillip and his wife Susan Kowalski of Gloucester, 2 grandchildren, Daniel Morse, US Navy, stationed at Willow Grove, PA, Derek Kowalski of Gloucester, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Theresa Kingsley, Stephen Wrobleski and Sigmund Wroblewski.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Thomas The Apostle Church at 11 am. Visiting hours are Tuesday, 4 to 7 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
