NEWPORT NEWS, VA- Cleo Osborne Lennox passed away Nov. 16th, in Newport News, VA. Born on June 28, 1924 in Philadelphia, she grew up in Worcester and was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and a graduate of the High School of Commerce. She lived in Jamaica, NY most of her life before her retirement to Newport News, where she resided the past 13 years.
During her work career Cleo worked as a secretary for Guidepost and House Beautiful magazines and as a New York City Public School secretary for more than 25 years. Cleo was a member of St. Georges Episcopal Church.
In her retirement she worked as a volunteer at Riverside Hospital, and was an avid bridge player. She enjoyed her bridge buddies and looked forward to their monthly meetings. Cleo enjoyed traveling and went abroad on several trips.
She is survived by three daughters, Fern D. Richardson of Newport News, Jill E. Lennox of Rego Park, NY., Robin A. Fulcher of Cambria Heights, NY.; and two grandchildren, Skyy Fulcher of New York and Nicholas Tre Richardson of Virginia; and one brother, William Osborne of Worcester.
Memorial contributions to assist ongoing efforts to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa AFT Africa AIDS Campaign AFT Educational Foundation, 555 New Jersey Ave., N.W. Washington, DC.
Burial will be Saturday, November 24th at 10:30 in Hope Cemetery. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
