Doris Sullivan Tomey, 69, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, November 23, 2007, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 25, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Rev. Mikey Jones Officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Ms. Tomey was born December 20, 1937 in Columbus, Georgia to the late John Lawrence and Annie Pearl Wilson Sullivan. She lived in the community most of her life, graduating from Ben Hill-Irwin Technical School in Cosmetology & Accounting. Ms. Tomey was a former employee of Flintstone Industries and Sunnydale Training Center. She was a member of the Church Of God Of Prophecy.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Christina Joy & Patrick Gilliland of Albany, Oregon and Ramona A. Helmer of Warner Robins; 3 grandchildren: Wendy (Ryan) Moyer, Raymond Revels, and Zachary Gilliland and 1 great-grandchild: Emma Marie Moyer; sisters & brothers-in-law, Verbileene Williamson of Fitzgerald, Frances & Mikey Jones of Tampa, FL, Brenda & Carey Cox of Westminister, MD and Myra & Wayne Smythers of Greenbackville, VA; brother, Carl Gene Sullivan of Panama City, FL as well as several nieces and nephews.
