Leroy Jones, 77, of Fitzgerald, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, November 25 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. James Griffin officaiting. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9, Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones was born March 12, 1930 in Ben Hill County, to the late Wallace Lewis and Ina Lucille Britt Jones. He lived in the community most of his life, retiring from Delco Remy Battery Plant in 1994. Mr. Jones was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a former member of Englewood Baptist Church. He was a member of the U.A.W. and the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Stone Jones of Fitzgerald; son, Roy E. (Lisa) Jones of Fitzgerald; daughter, Teresa Jones Branch of Fitzgerald; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brothers, J.W. Jones of Oglethorpe, Charles (Myra) Jones and Carl E. (Bea) Jones, all of Fitzgerald. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Jones.
