Dorothy T. (Prior) O'Neil, 74, of Juno Beach, Florida, formerly a resident of Greenville, RI for 34 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at her daughter’s home in Greenville, after a long illness with Alzheimer’s disease. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Francis A. O’Neil.
She was the youngest daughter of the late Lawrence and Anna (Kneiss) Prior. She was the beloved mother of Anne Corbo of North Scituate, Barbara O’Neil of Greenville, Michael O’Neil, of Kimberton, PA, Susan Parsons of Denville, NJ, and Christopher O’Neil, of Lansdale, PA. She was the dear grandmother of Cpl. Derek Corbo, USMC, Sean, Cameron, and Ryan O’Neil, Alicia and Brian Parsons, and Erin and John O’Neil. She was the mother-in-law of Michael Corbo, Lauren O’Neil, Jeffrey Parsons, and Mara O’Neil.
She was the sister of Anna Fogarty of Cranston, RI, Barbara Conway of West Hartford, CT. She is also survived by Eleanor and her husband John Mulvey, of Seekonk, MA, and several godchildren, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves her best friend of 70 years Joan Strain, of Greenville. She was the sister of the late Mary Prior and Lorena Kayatta.
She was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament School and St. Patrick’s High School. She was the Supervisor of Medical Transcription at St. Joseph Health Services of RI before retiring in 1995, after 28 years of service.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 8:30 am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7 pm.
