Hugh L.Turner, 89, of Fitzgerald died Sunday, November 18, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, November 20, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Elder Elliotte Tucker and Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7 to 9 PM Monday evening at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Turner was born October 18, 1918 in Ben Hill County to the late Henry S. and Amy O. Hudson Turner. He lived in the community all of his life. Mr. Turner was a retired Scaler with ITT Rayonier. Serving in the United States Army, he was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Turner was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Mr. Turner is survived by his wife, Ethel Turner, of Fitzgerald, GA; 4 daughters: Carol (Ralph) McMillan and Lynda Smith of Fitzgerald, Janice (Bill) Akins of Vidalia and Barbara Cowan of Macon; Son: Bruce Eidson of Fitzgerald; 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.
