Obituary

WORCESTER-Elias H. Tembenis, 7, of Worcester died unexpectedly Saturday, November 17th, surrounded by family, friends and loved ones at U-Mass Memorial Medical Center. Elias leaves his loving and devoted parents, Harry and Gina (Nejaimey) Tembenis; his “jiddo”, Richard J. Nejaimey; his “Yaya” and “Papou”, Toula and Theodore Tembenis. He also leaves his aunts, Jodi (Nejaimey) Sousa and her husband Francis, Heather Nejaimey and Maria Tembenis who was also his godmother; and many aunts, uncles and cousins here and in Greece. Elias was predeceased by his “Meme”, Judy (Vasseur) Nejaimey.

He was born in Worcester on August 23, 2000; and was a first grade student at Gates Lane Elementary School. Elias will be remembered as a joyous soul who touched everyone around him. He had an infectious smile, and delighted in making people laugh. Elias loved “Thomas the Tank Engine”, “Planets” and watching “Noggin” and “Nick, Jr.”

The funeral is Wednesday, November 21st from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, November 20th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
