Priscilla L. Nunes, 78, of Fairhaven died November 14, 2007 at The Royal of Fairhaven Nursing Home.
She was the daughter of the late Capt. Joseph C. and Elvira (Dias) Nunes.
Ms. Nunes was born in New Bedford and had lived in Dartmouth, New Bedford, Rochester and Fairhaven for most of her life. She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, class of 1947.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Fairhaven.
Ms. Nunes was formerly employed as an office administrator with Laborer's Union Local 385 in New Bedford for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of the National Laborers Organization and the Portuguese American Civic League of New Bedford.
Mrs. Nunes was an avid dancer and gardener and expressed her creativity through arts and crafts. She greatly enjoyed the company of her friends, as well as being outdoors near the ocean. She is remembered for the tales she told of spending time with her father on the fishing vessel "Priscilla" which he named after her.
Survivors include a nephew, Dennis W. Amaral of Vermont; and many close and dear friends who will always remember her.
She was the sister of the late Hortense Amaral.
