TEWKSBURY - Mrs. June M. (Cooper) McGorty, age 74, a resident of Tewksbury for nearly 5decades, died Monday, Jan. 6, at the Beth-Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston after a lengthyillness. She was the wife of Neil John McGorty, who died in 1993.
She was born in Somerville, June 13, 1928, a daughter of the late James A. and Viola E.(Montgomery) Cooper. She was raised in Cambridge, but had lived in Tewksbury for the last 49years.
As a resident of Tewksbury, she was a communicant of St. William’s Church.
Mrs. McGorty will be fondly remembered for having devoted her life to her family.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Jacqueline (Bureau) McGorty of Pepperell,two daughters and a son-in-law, Dawna and Joel Roush of Billerica, and Sharon Charest and herfiancé Paul Donath both of Tewksbury, one sister, Violet Partridge of Littleton, a sister andbrother-in-law, Mary Ann and Anthony DiCeglie of Woburn, four grandchildren, Lisa Marie andCheryl Ann McGorty, and Jessica Lane and Theresa Patricia Roush.
She was also sister of the late Mitzie McKinnon and Pearl Burke.
Her Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Jan. 11, in St. William’s Church. Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
