Obituary

Maria (Hartmann) Kane of Norwood formerly of Dedham, died November 12, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 54. She was the beloved wife of William J. Kane.

Born in Dedham, the daughter of the late Karl and Helen (Spence) Hartmann, she lived in Dedham for many years before relocating to Norwood where she has lived for over 30 years. She was a graduate of Aquinas Junior College and worked as a floral designer for Hannaford's Supermarkets. She was a member of the Lostbrook Golf Club Women's League.

She was the devoted mother of Rebecca Kane of Norwood, Laura M. Vinci and her husband Joseph of Norwood, Elizabeth K. Buetow and her husband Jason of Norwood and Sarah K. Cardoso and her husband Arthur of Stoughton. Grandmother of Joseph P. Vinci Jr. and Mario Vinci. Sister of Martha Bonnes of Dedham, Karl Hartmann of Little Compton, RI, Helen Black of Martha's Vineyard and Peter Hartmann of Sandwich. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Thursday at 10:00 AM with a funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Dedham, at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Visting hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
