Christine M. (Carella) Astrofsky 42 years of Brockton died Saturday November 10 at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was the wife of the late Richard Astrofsky. Christine was born in Boston a daughter of the late Francis Carella and Roberta (McCarthy) McCauley. She was raised in Dorchester and had resided in Brockton for the past 12 years. Christine was a graduate of Umana Tech High School in E. Boston and Mass Art in Boston She had been an art teacher and special education teacher in Canton and Boston public schools. Most recently she had been a realtor with Paul Clancy Real Estate in Brockton.
She was a devoted mother to her young sons Richard and Jacob. She had been a cub scout den mother and CCD teacher at St. Edith Stein. She loved photography and making collages and enjoyed nature and animals.
Christine had been involved in many charitable walks whether for hunger or breast cancer research. She will be remembered as being bubbly, social and kind but also generous and giving of herself.
In addition to her two sons she is survived by six brothers and sisters Paul McCauley of Brockton; Michael Carella of Dorchester; Charles Bradford of Brockton; Darlene Bradford of So. Weymouth, Pamela Bradford of Dorchester and Robin Stuart of Revere. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and her husband’s parents Stephen and Virginia Astrofsky of Canton.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish at 9 am. Burial in Milton Cemetery, Milton.
