Ira C. “Pete” Moore, 103, of Cemetery Road, Derry, NH died Sunday January 5, 2003 at his home. He was born in Londonderry, NH on June 24, 1899, a son of the late William and Blanche (Campbell) Moore. He was a resident of Derry since 1922, formerly living in Londonderry. Mr. Moore was a US Navy veteran. He was a manager at Profile Bedding Co. in Manchester, NH for 20 years. He was also a 58-year member of the St. Mark’s Lodge #44 F & AM and a 57-year member of the Ransford-Adah Chapter #3 Order of the Eastern Star, both of Derry. He was a special police officer in Derry for many years. He was predeceased by his wife, Martha (Chase) Moore in 1984.
He is survived by one niece, Pam Stewart of Florida. Other members of his extended family are Priscilla Cote Aquino of Hollywood, FL and Robert Zames of Painesville, OH, their relationship of which extends back to their respective childhood.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11th at 10:00am at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6 – 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Derry, PO Box 140, East Derry, NH 03041.
