Obituary

North Grafton: Stasys Marcinkevicius 89 of 13 Edward Drive North Grafton, formerly of 46 main Street Shrewsbury, died January 6th in Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester medical Center.

His wife of sixty four years Ona (Sablinskas) Marcinkevicius died in 1999. He is survived by a daughter Danute "Dana" Marcinkevicius of North Grafton with whom he made his home, a son Richard S Marcinkevicius of Gloucester died in 1998. He leaves a sister Brone Pridotkas of Worcester, a brother Antanas Marcinkevicius of Glenn Falls New York, formerly of Worcester died in 1973, and a sister Marija Prapuolenis of Reading Conn. formerly of Worcester died in 1994. Mr. Marcinmkevicius also is survived by nieces and nephews both here and in Lithuania.He was born in Kybartai Lithuania was educated there and came to this country settling in Worcester in 1949. He served in the Lithuanian Army.

He and his wife owned the former Dana's Liquors, and previously owned the National Bakery Co. formerly of Worcester.

Mr. Marcinkevicius was a member of Saint Casimir's Parish and was a former member of Our Lady of Vilna Parish. He was a member of The Lithuanian Community in America, The Lithuanian Charitable Society and The Lithuanian Social Club.

The funeral will be held Thursday January 9th from The Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home 298 Grafton Street with a Mass at 10am in Saint Casimir's Church 41 Providence Street Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.Calling hours at the funeral home are from 4 to 7pm Wednesday January 8th.The family requests that flowers be omitted and that donations be made instead to the Building Fund of Saint Casimir's Church.
