Mary Frances Cook Knape, 87, of Lenox died Thursday, November 8, 2007, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in Staunton Cemetery in Lenox. Pallbearers will be Murray Fender, Randall Norman, Monty Sapp and Jody Meeler. Honorary pallbearers will be J. R. Merrifield, Billy Green and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of the Lenox Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 10, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Knape was born on August 20, 1920 in Bainbridge and was the daughter of Ernest Elwood Cook and Martha Lee Cloud Cook, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. She was a homemaker and a member the Lenox Baptist Church.
Mrs. Knape is survived by her husband, Warren Knape of Lenox; two daughters and one son-in-law, Maria Bennett of Lenox and Martha and Laddie Darden of Lenox; two sons, Warren M. Knape, Jr. of Atlanta and Michael Knape, Sr. of Lenox; six grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Tammy Bennett, Rosa Michelle Knape, Katrina and Brian Bondari, Michael Knape, Jr., Melissa Knape and Marla Darden; and three great grandchildren, Kristie Bennett, Chase Bennett and Mallory Bennett.
