Fall River - Virginia (Wunderly) Edgcomb, 81, of Westport passed away Monday, November 5, 2007 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Robert R. Edgcomb.
Born in Arlington, MA, daughter of the late Albert W. and Ruth (Mitchell) Wunderly, she had lived in Westport for the last 23 years. A graduate of Northfield Academy for Girls in Northfield, MA, she also attended Simmons College in MA. Mrs. Edgcomb was a talented seamstress who also loved to knit and read. For years, she was an active member of the Westport Historical Society and enjoyed volunteering at the Westport Watershed Alliance.
She was the loving mother of Susan E. Borges of Dartmouth, Peter L. Edgcomb of Hampton, NH, Jeffrey W. Edgcomb of Saylorsburg, PA, Daniel M. Edgcomb of Poughkeepsie, NY and Nathan R. Edgcomb of Marlborough, NH, sister of John Wunderly of Portsmouth, NH and Caroline Russwick of Canterbury, NH. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Potter Funeral Home at 12:00 P.M.
