Charles L. Kelleher, 73

Dateline: Norton, MA

Charles L. Kelleher, 73 of Norton died unexpectedly on Sunday November 4, 2007 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA he was the beloved husband of Karen E. (Daley) Kelleher to whom he was wed to for the past 46 years.
Born in Norwood, MA on July 25, 1934 he was a son of the late William H. and Mary E. (McNamara) Kelleher.
He grew up in Canton, was educated in Canton schools and was a 1952 graduate of Monsignor Coyle High School in Taunton, following graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the 1st Marine Division Recon Company till 1955 being honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. Upon being discharged from the Marines he attended Stonehill College.
Before retiring in 1996 Mr. Kelleher was a self employed Electronics Technician for over 20 years. After retiring he enjoyed helping others with building and working on computers.
A communicant of St. Mary’s church in Norton he was also a member of the Norton VFW Post 8049, the Norton American Legion Post 222 and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.
He enjoyed cooking, bread baking, trips to Wendell’s to socialize with friends and being in the presence of his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Kelleher had made his home in Norton for the past 33 years and was formerly of Canton.
In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by his devoted children; Jane E. Hoyt and her husband Dan of Canada, Thomas M. Kelleher and his wife Kelly of New York, Dennis M. Kelleher and his wife Aoife of Attleboro and the late Cynthia Ann Kelleher, he was the brother of Helen Rose of Kingston, Louise Widberg of Canton and the late Mildred Lonnergan, Winifred Donnelly, William Kelleher, John Kelleher and Edward Kelleher. Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren; Jacqueline, Margo, Eoin, Cian and Ryan as well as many nieces and nephews.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday November 8th at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00A.M., in St. Mary’s Church, South Worcester St. Norton. Burial with military honors will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday November 7th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers Charles’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Jimmy Fund 64 Phyllis Lane Franklin, MA 02038 ATTN: Tim Brightman.
