Peter Trova, 94

Peter Trova, 94, of Norton formerly of Pittsfield died on Saturday November 3, 2007 at home. He was the husband of Mary C. (Strona) Trova to whom he was wed to on April 18, 1936.
Born in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania on September 8, 1913 he was a son of the late Alessandro and Margharita (Marcellino) Trova.
At the age of 6 Peter and his family moved back to the family’s native town of Mombercelli, Italy, he lived there for 10 years before his family moved back to America and settled in Pittsfield, MA. He was educated in both Italy and Pittsfield public schools.
Mr. Trova was a well known and respected self-employed carpenter and builder in the Pittsfield area. He came from a long line family of builders and was known for building custom homes.
While living in Pittsfield, he was a communicant of All Souls Church. He and his wife were charter officers of the Italian-American Club in Pittsfield. Since retiring he had taken up the hobby of wood carving and woodworking as hobbies and when younger he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing bocci.
Peter had made his home in Norton for the past 27 years and was formerly of Pittsfield for over 50 years. He and his wife had also formerly wintered in Port Richey, Florida for 22 years.
In addition to his wife of 71 years he is survived by his children; Saundra V. Perez and her husband Santiago of Norton and Peter R. Trova and his wife Barbara of Pittsfield. He was the brother of Rose Nigrelli of Pittsfield, Angelina Trombley of Pompano Beach, Florida and the late Louis Trova and Emilio Trova. Also surviving are 6 grandsons, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday November 7th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, South Worcester St. Norton. Burial will be held on Thursday November 8th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Pittsfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral Mass on Wednesday morning beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
In lieu of flowers, Peter’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Community Visiting Nurse Agency, Inc. 10 Emory St. Attleboro, MA 02703.
