Obituary











Mr. Linwood D. Johnson, 73 , of Berlin, NH passed away unexpectedly on Friday November 2, 2007 in his home. Lindy was born in Berlin, NH on Aug. 22, 1934 to Linwood H. & Bernadette (Devost) Johnson and was a lifelong resident. He was married for 46 years to Myrna (MacArthur) Johnson prior to her passing. Together they raised 2 children and enjoyed 5 grandchildren. Lindy grew up and lived his entire life in the Norwegian Village. He attended Berlin Schools and graduated from Berlin High. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for a number of years at the local mills, prior to his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Berlin.
Lindy was happiest when with his family at their camp at Lake Umbagog where he was able to enjoy the outdoors, hunt and fish. He enjoyed walking near his home and visiting with others.

Lindy is survived by his daughter Jill Blunden and her husband Bill of Gorham, NH; his son Jack Johnson and his wife Lynn of West Milan, NH; he will be sadly missed by his 5 grandchildren Mark Blunden, Doug Blunden, Autumn Johnson, Jared Johnson and Lacey Johnson. He is also survived by a sister Geraldine Hamlin and her husband Bill of Milan, NH; a niece Gail Nolin of Berlin, a nephew Steve MacArthur of Berlin and cousins. He was predeceased by his father/best friend and by his mother, as well as by his loving wife Myrna on Jan. 25, 2007.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday afternoon Nov. 6, 2007 at 2:00 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will follow at the Russian City Cemetery in Berlin. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM, prior to the funeral mass. Anyone who wishes may make a donation to the American Red Cross in his memory.
