Salvatore A. Yebba Sr., 81 of Chelsea, formerly of Medford and the North End of Boston died Thursday after a long illness in the Whidden Memorial Hospital Everett, MA.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Simone and Carmela (Fiore) Yebba.
Mr. Yebba Retired in 1973 from the Charlestown Navy Ship Yard as a Painter and had worked there for 30 years. He served in the U. S. Army during WW II from 1941 to 1945. He then joined the Army Reserves and retired as a Staff Sergeant E 6 in 1980 after 25 years. Mr. Yebba was a member of the Chelsea Senior Citizens.
He is survived by Wife: Carmela E. (Donadio) Yebba of Chelsea. Devoted father of Carmela Armano of Concord, NH,Salvatore A. Yebba Jr. of Londonderry, NH Janette Giso of Chelsea and the late Betty Sue Masterson. Loving grandfather of Maria Tibbetts, Toni Anne Armano, Jason, Kelly and Brian Reese, Melissa, and Melinda Yebba, Gina and Anthony Giso. Great grandfather of Stephanie Tibbetts. Brother of Sue Biase of Winchester,Anthony Yebba of Florida, Jenny Zuccola of Stoneham and the late Angelo, Nicholas, Phillip Yebba, Angie Corio, Louise Fiore, Luggy Pesce, and Nettie Kulas.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9 AM in Our Lady Of Grace Church, 59 Nichols St., Chelsea the Rev. James J. Barry officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Friends may visit Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
