Estella M. (Camara) Kobza, 92, of East Freetown, formerly of New Bedford, died Wednesday January 1, 2003 at Mariner Health of S.E. Massachusetts. She was the wife of the late Ernest M. Kobza, Sr.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joaquim and Mary (Santos) Camara, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Mrs. Kobza was formerly employed by several local textile mills for many years until her retirement.
Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Ernest M. Kobza, Jr. and his wife Carol of Fairhaven; a daughter, Evelyn E. Ferreira and her husband Thomas of Sacramento, CA; a sister, Helen Wojtkunski of Freetown; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Emily Gannon, Ernest Camara, Lawrence Camara, and Albert Camara.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday January 6, 2003 at 10:30 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30AM in St. Julie Billiart Church, North Dartmouth. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday January 5, 2003 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to M.O.L.I.F.E.
