Lanita G. Allen, 50, of New Bedford died Friday October 26, 2007 unexpectedly at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Born in Boston, the daughter of Dorothy (Jackson) Allen of New Bedford and the late Alphonso Frederick Allen, she lived in New Bedford for many years.
Ms. Allen was formerly employed as an administrative assistant for the U.S. Coast Guard in Boston.
She attended Bristol Community College and Newbury College.
Survivors include her mother; two daughters, Andrea Allen of Boston and Tanisha Ferrer of New Bedford; six brothers, Carlton Allen and David Allen both of New Bedford, Kenneth Allen of Maine, Fred Allen of Boston, Al Allen of Chicago, IL, and William Allen of California; three sisters, Norrissa Powell of Brockton, Doris Allen and Lisa Allen both of New Bedford; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
She was the sister of the late Leon and Wayne Allen.
