WORCESTER-John P. Meegan, 89, formerly of Country Club Boulevard died Tuesday, December 31st in the University Commons. His wife Alice M. (Doucette) Meegan died in 2001. He leaves a daughter, Evelyn Comstock of Ware; a sister, Lorraine Pulsifer of Brighton; 2 stepsons, Kenneth Glynn of Flemmington, NJ and Leonard Glynn of Cambridge; 2 stepdaughters, Pauline Dwyer of Hampton, NH and Eleanor Sullivan of Waterford. MI; and many nieces and nephews. 2 stepsons, Robert and David Glynn and 2 stepdaughters, Janice D’Amico and Marcia Adams predeceased him.
He was born in Brighton the son of William and Margaret (Cox) Meegan and lived in Leicester for many years before moving to Worcester. Mr. Meegan was a truck driver for many years for Town Talk Co. before retiring. He was a former member of St. Joan of Arc Church. He was a charter member of the Auburn Elks and was a retired teamster.
The funeral will be Friday, January 3rd at 1:00 PM in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
