Blanche M. (Coutu) Vandenbulcke, age 82, died Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Alfred P. Vandenbulcke who died in 1996.
She was born in Lowell, January 17, 1925, the daughter of the late Andre and Clarina (Roux) Coutu. Mrs. Vandenbulcke was a longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell and was a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Parish.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress with Pleasant Dress in Lowell for many years. Mrs. Vandenbulcke enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles and taking rides in her car, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise A. and Philip Cotter of Pelham, and Diane J. and Bryan Shaw of Chelmsford; a son and daughter-in-law, Marc A. and Karen Vandenbulcke of Groton; two sisters, Jeanne Ouellette of Georgia and Rita Gagnon of Chelmsford; a brother, Henri Coutu of Lowell; six grandchildren, Jennie Lynch and her husband Shawn of Chelmsford, Kimberly Kuliesis and her husband Kevin of Groton, Gregory Cotter and his wife Rachel of Shirley, Lindsay Cotter and her fiance Jason Lewis of Wilmington, NC, Nicholas and Michaela Shaw, both of Chelmsford; three great grandchildren, Savannah Kuliesis, Cassidy and Madison Lynch; also many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Gloria Coutu.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Monday, Oct. 29 from 4 to 8pm. Funeral Tuesday morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9 o'clock at St. John the Evangelist Church, N. Chelmsford. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
