John Richard Quickle, 62, of Ocilla died Thursday, October 18, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Eddie Hutcheson and Rev. Dewain Joiner will officiate with burial to follow in Fletcher Cemetery in Irwin County. Pallbearers will be Mike Walton, Jay Harper, Mike Windham, Gary Hunter, Ricky Fletcher and Billy Smith. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 20, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Quickle was born on January 28, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was the son of John A. Quickle, deceased, and Ethel O. Jernigan Quickle, of Yukon, Oklahoma. He was retired from Deep South Products and a member of Tifton's First Assembly of God. He had lived in Ocilla for 11 years.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Quickle is survived by his wife, Carol Team Quickle of Ocilla; one son, John Richard Quickle, II of Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Catherine A. and James J. Cross of Georgia; two sisters, Kay Goforth of Houston, Texas and Patti Ford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and two grandchildren, David Cross and Anne Cross.
