Leonard MacDonald, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, died unexpectedly on Tuesday October 16, 2007 at the Golden Living Center Nursing Home in Melrose. He was 90 years old.
Lenny was born in Boston on August 2, 1917. He grew up in Wakefield where he attended the former Lincoln School and graduated from Wakefield High School. He worked for several years at the former Curley's Fuel and Grain Company of Wakefield in the late 1930's and early 1940's delivering grain to the farms in Wakefield. He enlisted into the United States Army on October 24, 1942. He served during World War 2 and was discharged on February 11, 1946 with the rank of Tec-3. Lenny then began working for the Wakefield Public School system as a custodian at the Doyle School, Woodville School and Wakefield High School. He retired several years ago.
Lenny is the beloved son of the late John and Mary (LeFave) MacDonald. He is the devoted brother of the late Lawrence MacDonald, Robert MacDonald and Margaret Puglisi. He is the beloved brother-in -law of Joseph Puglisi of Wakefield. He is the loving uncle of Joan Santoro and David Puglisi both of Wakefield.
At Lenny's request, his Funeral Services and burial were private.
