Henry M. Olszewski passed away peacefully October 16, 2007, after a long battle with cancer.
Henry was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Henry and Anna Colbert Olszewski.
He joined the United States Navy in April, 1942, and served as Coxswain (T) USN during World War II on a destroyer through October 1945.
Henry married Irene R. Thibeault at Saint Ann's Cathedral in Baltimore, MD September 5, 1944. He built his own home and settled in Mystic in 1953. Henry retired from a career in precision castings in 1986.
Surviving family members include his wife Irene of 63 years; his daughters Linda B. Petrie of North Stonington, Diane G. Reynolds of Westerly, Janice E. Olszewski of Westerly and six beloved grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Ronald A. Olszewski.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted with military honors at Elm Grove Cemetery, Rte. 27, Mystic on Friday at 11am. There are no visiting hours.
