Obituary

WORCESTER

Paul F. Jennette, Sr. 89, of Worcester, died at home Fri., Oct. 12, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Worcester on March 31, 1918, he was the youngest of 10 children born to the late Rosa (Petracca) and Paolo Jennette. He graduated from Commerce High School. He enlisted in the US Army in 1942 and was a veteran of WWII, having served in North Africa and Italy as a Staff Sergeant.

Mr. Jennette was a well known business man and a familiar face in the community having owned and operated Central Shoe Repair. The family business opened its doors on Front St. in 1908 and continues to this day. Mr. Jennette enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, a hobby he had since childhood. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Paul is survived by his wife May (Anguria) Jennette with whom he recently celebrated a 59th wedding anniversary. He also leaves six children, Susan Emond and her husband Philip of New York, Paul Jennette, Jr. and his wife Mary of Worcester, Carol Erskine and her husband James, Stephen Jennette of Worcester, David Jennette and his wife Carolyn of Worcester and Robert Jennette of Connecticut; nine grandchildren, David Emond and his wife Meghan, Bretta, Ryan, Nicholas and Maxwell Erskine, Michael, Kimberly, Anthony and Lyndsay Jennette; two sisters, Rose Mason of Grafton and Mary Eaton of Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Alice and Grace Anguria both of Worcester; nieces and nephews and many cousins. Three brothers, and four sisters, predeceased him. He was a warm and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.

The funeral will be held Tues., Oct. 16, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held Mon., Oct. 15, from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
