Obituary

Worcester- Walter J. Ermanski, 90, of 200 Vernon Street, a longtime apartment manager and shoe worker, died Friday, Dec. 27, in Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

His wife, Stella (Siok) Ermanski, died in 1998. He leaves two sons, Walter J. Ermanski and his wife Elizabeth, of South Windsor, Conn. and Richard S. Ermanski, and his wife Elaine, of Sutton; a brother, Albert Ermanski of Auburn; a sister, Sally Sundy of Auburn; 4 grandchildren, Lisa, Walter, Jill and Brian; 3 great grandchildren, Matthew, Jarrett, and Karissa; nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces. Two brothers, Joseph and Bernard Ermanski, and a sister, Alice Rackus, predeceased him. He was born in Clinton, son of Walter and Mary (Micewicz) Ermanski and was raised in Worcester, where he lived for 85 years. He attended St. Mary's School.

Mr. Ermanski was a shoe worker for 42 years at Frank H. Pfeiffer Shoe Company, retiring in 1972. He and his wife were resident managers for Israel F.L.P. at the 200 Vernon Street apartments, since 1983.

He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Parish.

Mr. Ermanski was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening, photography, and fly tying.

The funeral will be Monday, Dec. 30 From Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home (www.worcesterfuneral.com), 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours are from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, in the funeral home.
