James "Ozie" J. O'Neil, 56, a resident of Methuen, MA. and a former long time resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA. on Saturday, October 6th, 2007.
James was born in Methuen, MA. on April 10th, 1951 to parents Delia and Lawrence O'Neil. James attended Lawrence Public Schools and worked for many years in the automotive industry in the Merrimack Valley Area. James "Ozie" spent the last 25 years in Las Vegas, Nevada before moving back to the area in February. He worked as a Sign Maker for Snyder Design in Las Vegas, Nevada until his retirement this year. When James left Las Vegas he left many friends who will miss him dearly. According to his family he loved to spend time with his grand children and his friends. He also loved Monday Night Foot Ball watching the Patriots and loved fishing, camping and the beach.
James is survived by his daughter; Erin Lauredant and her children; Anthony, Ricky Lauredant, Jacob and Caleb Rogers of Methuen, MA. whith whom he lived. Also his son James and his wife Kathy and their children Kelcey and Kevin O'Neil all of Salem, N.H. His sister Kathy Demain and her husband Allen and their children Michelle and Allen Demain all of Lawrence, MA. as well as several cousins, & his child hood friend Phil Glendye who supported "Ozie" until his passing.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 11th, 2007, at 11:00AM in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish at St. Augustine Chapel, 128 Ames Street, Lawrence, MA. 01841. A burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
