Mrs. Yvonne Jones, 73, of Ocilla, died Monday, October 8, 2007 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at the Ocilla Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Britt and Rev. Jamie Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in Pinetta Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Jones was born October 28, 1933 in Irwin County, to the late Cecil Clark and the late Hazel Myrick Clark Arthur. She lived in the community all of her life, retiring after 35 years form Irwin EMC as the Billing Supervisor. Mrs. Jones served as the Ocilla area representative for the Salvation Army for 10 years. She was a member of the Ocilla Baptist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years: L.W. Jones of Ocilla; children and their spouses: Clark Jones, Candace & Howard Jordan and Clay & Melissa Jones all of Ocilla; and five grandchildren: Jacob Nolan, CC Nolan, Cypris Jones, Alexandra Jones and Logan Jones all of Ocilla. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Van Clark.
